What is this?
The Circle of Care is a service for full members of the Village who are recovering from surgery or other traumatic medical incident. It provides a small circle of volunteers and a pair of coordinators who manage more intensive needs of members for a period of 1-6 weeks, (which can be extended if needed, to 10 weeks). Besides coordinating our normal services to members, it offers some additional help with things like light housekeeping, meal prep, laundry, bringing in mail or taking out trash. Volunteers sign up for all or part of the initial period and may continue with extensions as their schedules allow..
This training will prepare volunteers to help in these cases by providing
background on the assessment process,
guidelines on boundaries and handling unique situations
the communication channels we use to assure that everyone has the most recent information..
introducing the duties coordinators take on.
Please register by Feb 26 if you are interested. There are materials that will be sent in advance to registered volunteers.
