Today's topic: Health Disparities Affect Everyone
Health is determined by more than a person's choices and behaviors. Social and political conditions, economic forces, physical environments, institutional policies, the health care system, social relationships, risk behaviors, and genetic predispositions all contribute to physical and mental well-being. In America and around the world, many of these factors reflect a lingering history of unequal opportunities and unjust treatment for people of color and other vulnerable communities. Dr Cooper, author of Why Are Health Disparities Everyone's Problem? will facilitate a discussion of how we can all work together to eliminate the avoidable injustices that plague our health care system and society.

Come to join us for our “Good Morning, Howard!” zoom group. We will be following the new schedule as listed below:
Wednesday at 9:00 AM
Please Note: Good Morning, Howard will be on hiatus in July and August and will return in September.
Our goal is to provide Howard County residents an opportunity to come together in a relaxed atmosphere, to meet with others, and to participate in the discussion/activities of Health and Wellness. Our content may include using technology to connect with family and friends, gardening, exercise, music, movies, jokes, popular websites, and healthy diet.
Participation is easy because driving is not required. This social program is for TVIH members and older adults from Howard County.
Volunteers (TVIH members) will take turns to serve as the hosts of the GMH zoom meetings. The hosts will greet the participants, make introductions, and give the feedback/suggestions back to the membership committee.
Most people will join by using their computer, tablet or smartphone. To join, you need a zoom meeting link. The link will be emailed to you after you register.
To Join Zoom Meeting by using a smartphone, dial 1-929-205-6099. You will be prompted to enter the meeting ID and the password. If you are prompted to enter a personal ID, simply press the # sign.
The person using a phone can hear everyone and can talk. He/she cannot be seen on other people’s screens.
