Farida Guzdar will present June's travel talk, India: The Ties That Bind Us.  Farida will talk about growing up in India and how the country has changed since 1979 when she married and settled in the United States with her husband.  Farida visited India many times for family weddings, navjotes (the ceremony that initiates a Zoroastrian child into the faith), milestone birthdays, anniversaries, and funerals. Farida will share the changes she noticed during her visits over the last 40 years.  In 2016, Farida visited India with her adult children and now daughter-in-law.  They travelled to Mumbai, New Delhi, Agra to see the Taj Mahal, and Kolkata for a family celebration.  Seeing India through her children's eyes, revealed yet another perspective of life in India she had always taken for granted.  Register for travel talks on Thursday, June 17, at 7:00 pm when Farida will share insights and photographs of India, then and now.
This travel talk program is open to the public. Registration is required to receive the zoom meeting link.
