COMMITTEES AT THE VILLAGE IN HOWARD

FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE
Chair: Pete Brunner

 

Focus is on research of funding opportunities, managing grants and prepare progress reports to grantors. Additionally, to conduct annual donation programs, large events such as raffle and bingo and several small events.

PUBLICITY COMMITTEE

Chair: Fran Dummett

 

Introduce Howard County residents to TVIH by via in-person presentations, social media, monthly newsletter and the web. Represent TVIH to organizations such as the Association of Community Services (ACS) and the Coalition of Geriatric Services (COGS). Manage TVIH documentation, IT hardware and software needs, and website.

VOLUNTEER COMMITTEE

Chair: Susan Hailman & Marie Grunwell


Provides services to all associate members and full members, to assist with inquiries, registration and cancellation of events. Manage in-office work 5 days a week, in 2 hours shifts. Circle of Care Service Volunteers, provide non-medical aid to members during recovery from surgery. Respite care for members caring for a person. Transportation volunteers with qualifications transports full-service members to appointments, etc.

PODS COMMITTEE Chair: Jenny Davis

 

Facilitate the establishment of new neighborhood and special interest pod groups. Communicate with Pod coordinators to manage TVIH calendar and respond to questions about Pods. Join a Pod.

 

PROGRAM COMMITTEE Chair: Kate Stevens


Provide educational, cultural, health, well-being and social programs. Take initiative on designing and presenting new programs to approve.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

Coordinate with communication and outreach for recruitment and then follow-up on new member leads. Arrange and participate in welcome sessions and assign "buddies" for new members. Become a member.

TVIH HEALTHY AGING WORKGROUP (THAWG)

Seeks collaborative relationships with:

AGING IN COMMUNITY (AIC) WORKGROUP

Chair: Michele Millican


Working to collaborate and gather resources for our members to continue aging well in the community. The AIC workgroup will host a Life Planning Series to share information and resources.
