Nancy saw an Amtrak attraction as the stepping stone to an extended summer vacation.
She and her daughter Alice flew to Seattle where they visited friends.
Nancy held a 30-day train pass, her ticket to the U.S. at large, with up to 10 segments
to reach destinations throughout the county. You sleep on the train and find your meals.
She used 8 segments on 6 trains, exploring the CA coast on the Starlight, then
San Francisco to Chicago on the Zephyr and the Floridian which brought her back to Rockville.
