Live Performances Pod: Columbia Jazz Band, "The One and Only Sammy Nestico."
General Information:
The Live Performances Pod is open to any member of TVIH. Our primary purpose is to connect with other people to enjoy local arts and culture in person. You will need to purchase your own ticket from each Event's venue. The pod schedule is based on each event's date and time.
It is necessary to be on the email list to find out about the performances and to find out who else is going. We may want to have a meal or happy hour before or after each performance.
May 1 - The One and Only Sammy Nestico
Over the years the CJB has performed many of Sammy Nestico’s arrangements and compositions. On May 1, the jazz band dives into some of Sammy’s over 600 published arrangements and compositions including hits like Strike Up the Band, Basie Straight Ahead, and Wind Machine.
Along with this great music, CJB Director Fred Hughes will share some of the great stories behind this true jazz giant!
TVIH members socialize together at the Wilde Lake Interfaith Center pre-concert for Happy Hour. Bring snacks and beverages. TVIH Members get tickets directly on the website at columbiaorchestra.org which cost $20.
