We find it nearly impossible to have civil conversations on ‘trigger” issues such as politics, race and immigration. The result has often been to increasingly avoid these topics (and sometimes even their coverage on the news) altogether.
The Braver Angels, is a national citizens' organization that focuses on uniting people on the left, right, and center of the political spectrum in a working alliance to depolarize America. They “envision an America with respectful embrace of political disagreements, where civic friendship flourishes and competing perspectives strengthen our nation.” On Wednesday, April 16, from 10:00 -11:30, volunteers from Braver Angels, Richard Yocum, Cheryl Shapero and Bob Shapero, will visit TVIH to tell us about their work nationally and locally.
This will NOT be a discussion of political issues.
