About this event

Sometimes receiving care from the comfort of your home is the best medicine. Whether you are recovering from surgery, facing a life limiting illness, need help with transportation to appointments, or just need companionship and an extra hand, home care could be the solution. If you are the primary caregiver for your loved one and you need a break from the demands of caregiving, home care can be an important part of your care team.  This presentation will focus on the benefits of home care services and the differences between home care, home health care, and senior living.  We will also discuss insurance coverage, out-of-pocket expenses, and how to get started.

Please welcome our Presenters: May Allen, Home Care Specialist, Capital City Nurses

Jeannie Finnegan, Geriatric Care Manager, Stanton Aging Solutions

This overview will prepare you to plan and discuss realistic and practical information that will help you and your family and friends aiding you through your journey. You will get a glimpse of different topics that will be covered in session II, in this Spring 2025 series.

See you for the next session on May 14th at 10:00 am:

Guardianship and Its Alternatives: your current home may work for you now, but periodically you need to reevaluate. What allows you to stay in your own home or require you to update it or to move out? Practical advice on waiting until a crisis vs. planning for future needs will be discussed.
