Host: Joy Cheung
Today's topic: Do You Believe in Superstitions?
The definition of SUPERSTITION. : a belief or way of behaving that is based on fear of the unknown and faith in magic or luck : a belief that certain events or things will bring good or bad luck.
Superstition can have a soothing effect, relieving anxiety about the unknown and giving people a sense of control over their lives.
Superstition helps to boost confidence.
Believing that an object or routine is lucky provides an athlete with confidence and reassurance that they will perform well. It can help a student feel more confident about taking a test, or an interviewee may feel more secure about their upcoming job interview.

Joy painted her front door red when she moved to her new home in MD. She arranged to change her house number from 13 to 15. She does not allow her children to wear white barrettes in their hair.
Why is there no 13th floor in commercial buildings?
Do you believe in superstition? Do you say, "Knock on wood"? Do you wear a special piece of jewelry or keep something special in your pocket that you believe will bring you good luck?
Come to this "open-mic" session to share your stories. It will be lots of fun.
