Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC) is a 2,800-acre enclave in Edgewater, MD overlooking the Chesapeake Bay offering hiking trails, a museum, and marshlands. There will be a 15-minute presentation by staff, then your choice of a 1-mile leisurely walk on a wooden walkway overlooking the bay led by Susan Eberhard; or more extensive hiking into the surrounding woodlands led by John Eberhard.
