Shawn Gladden, Executive Director of the Howard County Historical Society will lecture on the role that Ellicott Mills played in the American Revolution beginning in 1772 when the Ellicott Brothers arrived from Bucks County, PA. Mr. Gladden will look at the relationship between the Ellicotts and the Carroll family as well as the development of the grain trade in the Howard District and its connection to the market through Baltimore and points west. The lecture will also include a tour of the museum and an opportunity to see artifacts from Howard County’s past.

All registrations due by Wednesday, April 16th.

Special instructions of location: Take Route 29 North. Use Exit 42A onto US 40 National Pike. Turn right onto Rogers Avenue and continue onto Court House Drive. Turn right onto Ellicott Mills Drive. Turn left onto Main Street. Turn left on to Court Avenue. Continue straight to stay on Court Avenue. Destination will be on right.
